Sandy Bay Amateur Swimming Club is Tasmania’s oldest club and is a not-for-profit organisation encouraging confidence, team spirit and personal development.  Established in 1898 it is one of the oldest surviving swimming clubs in Australia. Sandy Bay Swimming Club was established to encourage growth in the sport through development of learning, participation, fitness and competition pathways.

If you are new to squad swimming or competitive swimming, we offer a free Come and Try session.  This session provides aspiring swimmers the opportunity to learn from our team of talented coaches and see why swimming with Sandy Bay provide swimmers with fun, fitness and friendships.

In addition to squad and competitive swimming, Sandy Bay Swimming Club also has swimmers who compete in the summer Ocean Swimming series.  This aspect of our club’s swimming has grown through one of our members recently swimming the English Channel.

So why not come and join us and experience swimming the Sandy Bay way!
